We are using blackhill open top tours from rapid city to do the major attractions, parks etc they pick you up and drop you off,and whilst in deadwood i will probably use them for spearfish canyon and surrounding area, also want to see tatanka story of the bison,so that would all take up 3 days with downtown attractions in deadwood Thanks guys for those suggestions, yes weve heard Deadwood isnt large, looks quiete easy to navigate on foot but i love the surrounding area and i felt that with adams house, adams museum, saloon 10,mt moriah,76 museum, broken boot gold mine and general shopping that that could take a day and a half to do leisurely. Our blackhill open top tours involve mount rushmore, crazy horse and custer state park on sept 15 and a seperate tour on the 17th covers the badlands,so i guess smaller attractions like bear country, reptile park and tatanka story of the bison are done by smaller tour operators out of Rapid city and Deadwood ?Īnyhow, any advice would be greatly appreciated I would imagine on the other 2 days it would be easy from this hotel to get transport to downtown Rapid city ?Īlso curious about the bear country attraction, are there any smaller tour companys out of rapid city that take you to this attraction ? We also will be spending 4 days in Rapid city at the cambria hotel ,i know its not downtown, but 2 of those days will be full day tours with Blackhills open top tours,in which they pick you up and drop you off. My first question is what is my best form of transport from airport to Deadwood,i wont be driving,so i guess taxi or shuttle ? we will be staying at the celebrity hotel. Will be arriving in Rapid city at 11-20am friday sept 11 and will be spending my first 3 days in deadwood. Hi all, last minute plans for my upcoming US trip now includes a week in South Dakota.
